英文論文編修服務使用要點 Guidelines for English Paper Editing Service

一、 為提昇本校學術研究具國際水準與擴大雲林科技大學圖書館(以下簡稱本館)專業諮詢服務,特定訂本規則。

二、 凡本校教職員工生皆可透過本館申請此項服務。

三、 服務規範

(一)本校為提升國際期刊論文的品質與數量,對於本校師生投稿國際期刊論文,由圖書館專案教師,提供英文論文的免費編修(即潤稿)服務,但並非中翻英的翻譯服務。
(二)申請此項服務的師生必須符合以下條件,方能受理。
1.該英文論文必須是投稿於SCI、SSCI、TSSCI、AHCI、EI…等所含括之期刊。
2.該英文論文的作者必須包含本校專任或專案教師。
3.博碩班研究生申請本服務需經過指導教授同意,指導教授則宜評估該論文的水準,有希望通過國際期刊審查者才予以同意,並簽署「英文論文編修申請之指導教授同意書」。
(三)申請者應主動將投稿後的情形及結果告知原協助編修的老師。
(四)申請者若認為編修老師對論文發表具有貢獻 ,可於論文致謝篇中附記之。

四、 申請方式:

(一)英文論文編修服務採線上網頁申請,依收件次序,由系統排定編修指導老師。
(二)英文論文諮詢服務採線上登記,由本館聯繫編修指導老師與申請人,協助安排編修指導時段。

五、 服務地點:英文論文編修服務地點位於本館1樓教學研究支援中心-英文論文寫作指導室。

六、 本要點提經圖書委員會議通過,陳請校長核定後實施,修正時亦同。

Purpose:
To elevate the quality and quantity of academic research at National Yunlin University of Science and Technology and expand the professional consultation services offered by the Library (hereinafter referred to as "the Library"), this guideline is established.

Eligibility:
All faculty, staff, and students of the university are eligible to apply for this service.

Service Regulations:
(1) To improve the quality of international journal articles submitted by faculty and students of the university, the Library provides free English paper editing (i.e., manuscript polishing) services for papers submitted to international journals. Please note that this service is not a translation service (i.e., Chinese-to-English translation).
(2) Applicants must meet the following conditions for their requests to be processed:
 1. The English paper must be submitted to journals indexed in SCI, SSCI, TSSCI, AHCI, EI, or similar databases.
 2. The author of the paper must include at least one full-time or project faculty member from the university.
 3. Graduate students applying for this service must obtain consent from their thesis advisor, who should evaluate the quality of the paper and only approve it if the paper is expected to pass international journal peer review. The advisor must sign the "Thesis Advisor Consent Form for English Paper Editing Service."
(3) Applicants are required to inform the original editing instructor of the submission status and results after submission.
(4) If applicants believe that the editing instructor has contributed to the paper's publication, they may acknowledge the instructor in the paper's acknowledgment section.

Application Procedure:
(1) The English paper editing service is available through online application. The system will assign an editing instructor based on the order of applications received.
(2) The English paper consultation service is also available through online registration. The Library will contact the assigned editing instructor and the applicant to schedule the editing session.

Service Location:
The English paper editing service is provided at the Teaching and Research Support Center on the 1st floor of the Library, in the English Paper Writing Guidance Room.

Implementation:
These guidelines shall be implemented upon approval by the Library Committee and final approval by the university president. Any amendments to these guidelines will follow the same procedure.
